Himala - Bamboo

Here's a video I saw over at Mo Twister's blog and I just thought I'd have it here as well so whenever I want to watch it again I don't have to look for it over at Mo's blog where he drops about maybe an average of almost ten posts a day - he's that awesome. I'm a big fan.

Anyway this video he say was during his birthday; Bamboo (the band) came into his show - Good Times with Mo which I'm a big fan of as well, and sang Himala. Francisco "bamboo" Mañalac their frontman - as we all know, used to be Rivermaya's frontman back in the days. Click here to read more of Mo's post.

Here's the video by the way. Brace yourself for some classic stuff. Good times!

Bagong Buwan

New Moon.

I haven't watched the movie yet. Is it any good though? :) Just messing around. I heard from a few of my friends that it is one nice movie and that they would even want to watch it again. I personally think it's a nice film; I looked up its trailer online and I watched the first one when it came out in the cinemas - Twilight. Though most people say it's a chick movie, I actually enjoyed it. I enjoy good movies, be it a chick-flick, or what not. As long as it has a nice plot and is produced well enough to at least meet my taste, then I'm down with that.

Back to New Moon, hmm.. I plan on watching it alone. Probably two-three weeks from now when all the hype subsides. I'm pretty much sure it will still be showing by then. Or should I just wait for a torrent download perharps? Hmm.. First movie screening for the general public was last Friday, and (I heard) lines for the ticket booths were just insanely packed. Not really a fan of queuing only to watch a movie. I prefer waking up in the morning, check the screening time online and on which mall I plan to spend nearly two hours sitting down on a cozy seat hoping I don't fall asleep - then off I go an hour before or so. That way I save time and money.

Why alone? Hmm.. It being a date movie (I think), I think it's best if you watch it with someone special. It's either that or better watch it alone. Just my personal preference, for some personal reasons. :) But I don't know, still contemplating on that. A group would be fun, but by then everybody would've watched it already - I guess that's one reason to have no other option but watch it alone, ya? Sweet!

Heard it broke a record on "Midnight Screening"? Something in the U.S., click here.

Reason enough to say it's a good movie, ya? Or is it just the hype? Nah, I think it's a nice movie. Will watch it when I feel like it. :D

A Mother's Word

After yesterday I think I drive better when I'm drunk, than when I'm running late. haha. Oh man! Now I can afford to laugh, but yesterday? Sheesh!

I was cruising through Katipunan Ave. yesterday- late for work (and yes, I have work on a Saturday), nearing a U-turn slot I opted to switch lanes to my right; so I glanced to my right side mirror, (thinking the lane was clear ahead since it was a highway - not to mention I was in the third lane from the U-turn slot) stepped on the gas a li'l bit and when my eyes turned to where it should've been the whole time (or more often than not) I found myself only 'bout a few meters away from a Suzuki Vitara that was not moving. So what I did was, (think fast) stepped on the break and threw a prayer to mama Mary, but before I could even utter a word - - BOOM!

Ya well, this time I really learned my lesson. I know that's probably the second time I said that one, but this time it's for real.

So apart from don't drive when you're drunk, I guess people should also think about driving when they're late. I'm not saying don't go drive when you're late, what I'm trying to say is when you're running late - and just because you're sober or it's just top of the morning - BE CAREFUL. Ish happens, and it happened to me yesterday. I admit it's my fault - obviously, I know!

Mom knows best. Just these past few days prior to what happened she's been telling me to sleep early especially if I have work the following day so I don't end up rushing from our home to the office. Guess what? Well you all know what happened already.

It's not that I don't listen to my mom, being the mama's boy that I am, haha. But sometimes you tend to ignore what they're telling you especially if you think you know better. But of course, diba? Who knows yourself and what you're capable of better but yourself, diba? WRONG! You stubborn prick! Listen to your mother. Unless you're pretty much sure of what you're doing and is confident that you know better, okay then don't. But then again, it won't hurt if you listen and at least think about what they're telling you. Most likely, most if not all, what they're telling you is better than what you think, or even know. Besides, what kind of a mother would tell their kids to jump off a building - or something like that, ya? There's just nobody, nobody but you! haha ok that last part is a joke! :P

So kids, let us not ignore a mother's word - our parents on that note. If you give it a deeper glance, what have they told you that wasn't for your own good anyway? Think about it. ;)

One Summer Afternoon

This video goes way back 2006. The song selection is totally off though, never really thought about it. I only noticed when I already finished rendering and did a playback. 'ts a nice song so I didn't really give it that much thought, was too excited to edit, just picked it out of my play list and went on editing. But anyway I hope you like it.

It was an Easter Sunday and we were at the dorm. There were only a few of us in the dorm at the time. My dorm mates had this chill spot set up; our manager opposed to having it there so it was removed even before the day ended. 'twas a five-day break between enrollment for summer classes and opening day. We decided to have a small salo-salo since it was also the birthday of my brother.

Good times!

The Pacman

Oh man! There's so much to talk about the Pacman these days. His historical win over Miguel Cotto last Sunday (PH time) being only an entree.. haha.

I don't really like talking 'bout serious dishes like this one, I don't do good research. I just eat up on what ever that I stumble upon. But about the Pacman lately? Oh man, there's too much ish about him and his rumored mistress - oops! Did I just say the M word? haha.

Anyway alright, for the entree. We all know what he achieved last Sunday, ya? Whenever Pacman is set to go on the ring on a Sunday, everything here in the Philippines just goes to a halt. No traffic - man here's one thing I want to try; there's this one stretch of pavement we have in Metro Manila called EDSA it's (I think) the busiest road we have here because it connects most of the cities here in the Metro. It's like if you're familiar with EDSA then you're good, you won't get lost. Anyway what I want to try is drive along EDSA during a Manny Pacquiao fight. haha. Quite shallow ya but driving is a form of release for me that this actually means something to me. Or this would be a big deal. But then ofcourse, me being Filipino I wouldn't want to miss a Pacman fight, so I don't think how that fantasy - if you may - of mine be possible. haha. A dilemma, ya? Well at least for me. Here's another thing; low crime rate - it's always been talked about in our local news that whenever Pacman is fighting, the country is united even for only a good few hours. Which I think is a cool thought. And then right after the fight people just go against those who don't pay up on bets. haha. Nah, nah I was just kidding. So ya, these are just a few trivia's that pretty much every Filipino have in their bag. But then of course if you have fun facts, there's always the opposing sad stories. Some people, especially those with heart problems like the elder ones, some lose their lives. I have to admit if you're a Filipino watching Pacquiao? Man, for some reason there's this different feel to it like you want to get involved in the ring and like, even if you know he can't hear you - obviously - you still scream your heart out. Seriously I do that. And some I guess just can't help it and their blood pressure goes up like crazy which causes them to have heart attacks. Last fight if I'm not mistaken there were about nine or ten (link to available news provided) who lost their lives while watching the fight. Sad but true.

Would you believe some even came up with SAFETY TIPS FOR PACQUIAO-COTTO FIGHT? haha. Well, you better believe that.

That's just some of the hypes that we Filipinos experience whenever Manny have bouts. He sure is one Filipino Pride.

OK now enough with the entree. Let's have the main dish! haha.

The rise of Team Jinkee! Woot, wooot!

Man it's all over the islands! Everybody is just talking about it here. News are going crazy - OK that's exaggeration. But seriously though. Celebrity tweets say like "I <3 Team Jinkee" or "Team Jinkee all the way" and even "Go go go Team Jinkee". I mean, that's just really hilarious. Mo Twister posted this video on his newly-put-up blog. You saw it already? I would want you to watch it first before you read on. There's just no way that girl was Jinkee Pacquiao (his wife). Do read the article narin it's all there.

OK on this matter I'll just link you to this post by Mo, that way you'll be humored more than when I'll be the one to talk about it. :)

Click me.

[caption id="attachment_678" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Just want to share this one. Took this photo "while driving" along C-5, Pasig."]Just want to share this one. Took this photo "while driving" along C-5, Pasig.[/caption]

Read about his Team Jinkee T-shirt? haha. Man that's really funny. He talked about it on his morning radio show Good Times with Mo, Mojo and Grace Lee and man I personally think as well - like most of the callers do - agree that this shirt will be a hit. Seriously.

On a more serious note, it's just weird how people are more interested in people's mistakes than their achievements. Manny is too famous now that people are just watching his every move, every mistake. And you can't blame the public nor the media for that. The one to blame I should say is the figure - The Pacman. He should be well aware of his public status, that way he should've been more careful. I'm not saying he shouldn't be doin' this and that, who am I to judge and say that, ya? Besides, Krista Ranillo? I mean, she's not that pretty in my book but, c'mon - who would not want to - you know - with her? Let's be realistic here. Anyway so much for that, this rumor be true or not I'm just gonna leave it at that.

OK for dessert! This part will be more of my thoughts. I'm just curious how this'll all turn out in the coming days. For the "Hero's Welcome"? (That's what they call it whenever he comes home from a big fight) For upcoming press conferences? I doubt that it'll be all about his fight this time though. Even his talked about running-for-congress-talks were put aside. I heard from my mom that in the news daw he made the media wait for him for a tiring four long hours for a press-con over at Vegas (I guess) only to show up and sit there for five short freakin' minutes. Any truth to this? Insane, ya? And Ma said there were strict orders during that press con that there be no personal questions. I guess The Pacman had enough of answering "no comment" to those personal questions thrown right at him lately. Every time he gets cornered by the media and be asked about his rumored affair he answers "no comment". And like Mo said "...in the real interpretative world, 'No comment' is admiss[i]on of guilt without confirmation". It's like answering with an indirect yes.

So anyway, so much for that. I still am proud of Manny Pacquiao - all unwanted baggage aside. He's a good fighter, he trains well and he's just awesome in the ring. And let's not forget that he's only human, thus he commits mistakes. But that's not a good excuse - I know - to do immoral acts. But then again these are still "rumors".

So I guess we'll just have to see. I'm a pro-family type of guy so if he'll be proven guilty, I guess that'd be minus respect at some point. But in my book, that won't erase what he has done for this country and the Filipino people. But he has to face the consequences of all these. For now, I'm just curious what the upcoming days would bring - how will the media and the public react if there's really truth to all this. Though from how I see it basing on the facts it's 89.9% true. ;)

The About

[caption id="attachment_659" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Just showing off the shirt I'm wearing right now, no significant reason, only because I have nothing else in mind. I guess I could say this is what I got in return for the donation we gave for the Ondoy victims. Ofcourse through a good friend - heard these were limited. :D"]SagipKapamilya_ABSCBN_Foundation_shirt[/caption]

Hey guess what, I finally found the time to update my About page - or should I say the "feel" to compose one. Updated the page last night before I went to work.

Yeah. Well, not that you care or anything, I'm just saying.

It's been like four months now, more or less, since I've put up this personal blog I have here.

Nothing that interesting in it though, just a little spill on this and that. Stuff about me, you know how it goes, right?

If you want to check it out you can navigate your cursor to the top-most of this page, there you'll find the "about" button - click on that one and wait for the page to load then that's it. Or you can simply click here. :P

I also included a poor quality photo of me in there. For now that's the only photo of me that you'll find here in this website. I once included a photo of me in one post prior to that one but I decided to take that one out and just put one photo in the About page. Click the photo for its disclaimer - is that what you call it? A disclaimer? haha. Uhm, an excuse? Whatever.

So anyway, won't be taking much of your time (that's if you took the time to read this post - thank you). :) Do check it out though if you have a minute or two to spare.

Good day!

Twitter List

Have you tried out this new feature on Twitter?

No? Well, I think you should.

I've always treated Twitter as a good way of staying intouch with friends (apart from it being a micro-blogging website) - though I only have a few of 'em on Twitter.

I follow celebrities - yes, I do. It's fun when I'm at that point of the day where I have nothing else to do, so I just indulge myself with celebrity tweets. But having them in your timeline, for me, depletes the purpose of how I see Twitter. That was one thing I noticed, so I thought "what if Twitter had this feature where you could have the people you follow in groups". But who am I to influence them so I just kept it to myself.

And then, this "List" feature came into play. At first I never bothered to explore it, only when I read a blog about it that I found out about its function. It's the exact idea that I wanted - better even. Why? Later.

With the list you can group the people you follow into a list that appears on the right panel together with all the usual stuff that you see in there. Why is it better than what I wanted? Because you can - take note - "unfollow" the people you don't seriously follow. The reason you unfollow them is to prevent their tweets from appearing in your timeline. In other words, that's what I like to call, "cleaning your timeline".

Don't you get annoyed when some celebs who just can't get enough of Twitter flood your timeline? Well I dunno about you but I sure do. But ya I have to admit more often than not I check on celebrity tweets - they're fun and interesting. Of course, they're celebrities. Okay so you know what they're eating, where they're at, what they're doing, what they want and do. But think about it, is that healthy for you? I don't think so. It's so addicting (slash) interesting that you can't resist but after a few minutes you have to stop on what you're doing, to check on what they're doing. Nothing wrong with that but if it keeps you from doing something, then I don't think that's healthy for yourself. It brings you to a frenzy and leaves you in fantasy.

So anyway, I don't know if it's just me or this "List" feature is a really big help to somehow turn things around and just get on with my life. If you want some entertainment then just click on your "Celeb-list" (that's how I labeled mine) and indulge yourself with celebrity tweets - at least you no longer see them on your timeline. So unless you seriously want to follow a particular celebrity, blogger or whatever, keep them in a list.

Serves me well. At least for me, that's how I see it. That's how I use it. ;)

Expectations

iamekim.com_expections

Unmet expectations will lead to frustration, then comes several variations of reasoning.

My point? You don't expect.

You just hope and stay positive, don't expect.

You might find yourself ranting about something you'll regret one day.

Umm, I don't know what really prompted me to talk about this.. Just another random thought that ran through my head, this time around I decided not to put it to waste and rather put it here on my blog. Me out! ;)

Oh! By the way, how do you find my drawing? HAHA. O yes, a pen and a tissue paper, took a photo w/ added effects - there it is.

just awesome!

I was thinking about blogging - a long one, but work is keeping me so this'll be a quickie. (I hope I don't get carried away)

Woke up late yesterday, 'round nine in the morning. Original plan from the night before was to wash the car but ended up, well, 9 A.M. is just too hot to be outside doin' some car washing action.

Had breakfast - the usual ham 'n egg w/ rice. (So much for no more heavy breakfasts)

Found myself lying on the bed right after. Quite unusual that I didn't turn to my laptop 'mediately after the meal.

Headphones on and some good music while enjoying the comfort of the bed. Subscribed to our local TelCo's Unli-Text and just started connecting with people. A "Hello" sent out to a few friends then conversations through SMS were on - and it went for the next hour or so..

Ma was playing poker on Facebook, so was my brother.

Later mom was preparing lunch - late lunch at that. We had brunch for our first meal of the day.

Steak!

'twas huge with a thick slice, took a pic of it even and "twittered" 'bout it. Twitpic. What do you think of the steak? Yum, ya? A friend took notice of those deo's on the side and had to twit about it. haha. It's my bro's stick, not mine. :)

He's here to visit before he takes his board exam for nursing grads. Wish him well on that one.

So anyway after uploading the image my battery ran out then my phone shutdown - apparently. Then while charging I noticed something wasn't right.

Felt bad. My fiveEight hundred's system wasn't running well. Found out about it when I brought it to Nokia Care center over at Annex SM North (our local mall) to have it checked. Good thing nothing was damaged hardware-wise. Was relieved to know they don't really need the warranty card for me to claim my phone's warranty - which led me to question: What's the warranty card for? But anyway who cares, ya? I know I don't, 'slong as I get my phone fixed - that's all that matters.

Quite a hassle but turned out, uh, a blessing? haha. Well at least for me I guess. I got my "early" Christmas gift from mi mom. :D As to what it is, nah maybe after a week or two I'll blog about it. But seriously, 'di ba halata? :)

It's just awesome! ;)
