Hmmm.. Where do I start? Well I don't really have much to say, and I don't want to keep y'all bored. OK now, it's not that I don't have something to say about what happened, actually I have a lot to say about what happened but I'm just in so much awe right now with this really unusual flooding that Metro Manila experienced over the weekend that I don't think I'm capable of putting it all together in one blog entry. What happened truly saddens me and I don't really want to talk about it. Let's just leave it to the journalists, and I think much has been said and loads of images and videos have been shown online. So there.
Here I'm just going to share my share of mishaps. Actually not so that concerns me, I consider myself fortunate that I was safe at home, it was flooding outside but I was able to save my car from it and not get the interior wet. Most of my neighbors did their best to save their vehicles but sad to say they weren't able to. Our other car was left at the airport (NAIA T2), went there the following day to check on the car and luckily when I asked the security of the area the man told me that flood didn't reach the parking lot. Which is good news really to me and to my mom who's currently out of the country.
Over Sunday and even until yesterday I still had friends stuck in the area. I kept in touch with them but communication lines must've been greatly affected as well by the about 12-foot-high flood, reason for text messages getting delayed. Calling 'em was even close to impossible. I was told it was like a warzone up in the area. You see men in camouflage uniforms riding on big trucks, people lining up outside the stores waiting for it to open to buy food - some lining up for relief goods. But anyway, as far as I know the flood has already subsided now in most areas and the critical Ortigas extension's (I think it's one of the only 3 access to higher ground?) muddy water already went down as well. Now vehicle I think are able to pass by the area and people no longer have to dip themselves in muddy water just to cross to the other side and get some food for their family. So that's really good news.
OK here I am again, I didn't intend to have this lengthy post. haha. Anyway here is what happened that day in our area.
